Ashgrove_Before (956x1280)I have to share with you a wonderful story of a group of self-managed strata unit owners in Ashgrove (Qld). About a year ago they didn’t have a strata manager and their building was in a terrible state. The property was run-down with flooding in the understory of the building every time it rained.

The property’s value was declining dramatically. It was one of those depressing stories that keeps owners awake at night. The owners joined Our Body Corp in April last year and began the process of self-managing their strata with some support from us along the way.

The owners used the online communication tools of Our Body Corp to discuss the problems, develop a plan, raise money, get quotes and execute the plan. It’s a block of six units and because everyone is part of the online system no one could say they weren’t informed.

Today they sent through to me ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos of the property’s ‘problem garden’. They have just added thousands of dollars to their property and with excellent strata management records now in place with the online system any new owner would love to be part of this community (ie more value to the sale price of a property!) They have other big plans and I look forward to watching their progress.

I was touchAshgrove Aftered to receive this email from this lovely client, “without Our Body Corp I would not have had the influence/speed/skill to get it done. It has meant fixing problems that I have now discovered have been persisting for over 8 years!!! It’s added HUGE value already and it’s not finished. Also inspired the neighbours to re-develop.

I may not be your biggest fan (we’re but a mere six pack) but I am your BIGGEST fan.”

Well done Ashgrove.
